Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola seeks Darwin Núñez return
Spanish outlet reports manager interest in Al-Hilal striker
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is pushing to re-sign striker Darwin Núñez from Al-Hilal this summer, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes. The move follows a serious injury to forward Hugo Ekitike. Núñez joined Al-Hilal from Liverpool last summer after previously winning a Premier League title and a Community Shield at Anfield.
The Uruguayan international is under contract with the Saudi Pro League club until 2028 and is valued at £17 million by Transfermarkt. Liverpool recently signed Victor Muñoz from Osasuna and are reportedly working on a deal for Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. Bradley Barcola has also been linked with the club. Current striker Alexander Isak faced fitness issues during the previous campaign.
