Chelsea Target Scottish Striker Robbie Ure After Breakout Season in Sweden
The 22-year-old IK Sirius forward has attracted interest from top European clubs following an impressive scoring campaign in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Chelsea have opened preliminary discussions regarding a potential summer transfer for Scottish centre-forward Robbie Ure, who has emerged as one of the most productive young attackers in Scandinavian football with Swedish side IK Sirius.
The 22-year-old striker has enjoyed a remarkable scoring run in Sweden, posting 23 total goal contributions across all competitions. That tally includes 17 goal involvements in just 14 matches in the Swedish Allsvenskan. His form has triggered interest from across Europe, with Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, Napoli, Monaco, Lille, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş all tracking his progress.
Despite widespread competition, Chelsea and Manchester City are understood to be showing the strongest interest, with preliminary talks taking place regarding a move to Stamford Bridge. Standing 6ft 2in tall, Ure combines physical presence with clinical finishing inside the box.
Ure developed through the youth academy at Rangers, where he produced 25 goal involvements in 37 reserve fixtures and seven goal contributions in 10 UEFA Youth League matches. His academy form impressed manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who handed him a senior debut on 30 August 2022. Ure scored on debut in a 3-1 League Cup victory against Queen of the South, though he ultimately made just three first-team appearances for Rangers before moving to Belgian club Anderlecht in 2023.
In Belgium, the Scottish forward registered 12 goals and four assists before making a single senior appearance, prompting his subsequent transfer to IK Sirius in search of regular first-team play.
Chelsea’s interest in Ure aligns with the youth-focused recruitment blueprint established under Clearlake Capital. The club has built an international scouting network designed to secure promising under-23 talent across Europe, South America, North America, and Africa. Recent additions to Chelsea’s academy and multi-club pipeline include Harrison Bettoni from Wigan, Scottish defender Alfie Osborne from Hearts, and a deal in principle for 15-year-old forward Benji Flowers from FC Dallas.
Chelsea also possess an additional operational pathway through BlueCo’s multi-club structure, which includes French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, offering potential loan opportunities for emerging players.
