Adobe Launches Suite of 70 Creative Tools Inside ChatGPT in AI Push
The software giant integrates Photoshop, Premiere, and Firefly directly into OpenAI's chatbot.
Adobe Inc. launched a unified plugin for ChatGPT on Wednesday, embedding more than 70 of its core creative and productivity applications—including Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign—directly into OpenAI‘s artificial intelligence platform.
The worldwide rollout allows users to trigger photo editing, marketing video generation, and PDF manipulation through conversational text commands. The release expands on an initial integration late last year, when San Jose, California-based Adobe used OpenAI’s Apps SDK to bring standalone versions of Photoshop, Acrobat, and Adobe Express into the chatbot.
Users activate the new capabilities by adding the extension through ChatGPT’s settings menu and typing “@Adobe” into the prompt bar. While the integration functions without logging in, signing into a Creative Cloud account enables cross-session project storage, cloud file access, and generative capabilities powered by Adobe Firefly models.
The company said the plugin yields its strongest performance inside OpenAI’s Codex coding application and its recently introduced Work suite.
“We want Adobe’s pro-grade tools for creativity and productivity to be available wherever people work,” said Forest Key, vice president of Adobe Firefly and agentic AI. “The Adobe plugin in ChatGPT isn’t a replacement for our flagship apps that creative professionals rely on every day. Our flagship apps go deeper when projects call for hands-on precision and creative control.”
The move comes as creative software providers compete to embed automated capabilities into conversational workspaces, where rival platforms like Canva have also expanded AI-driven toolsets. Adobe’s Firefly models, trained on licensed media to reduce commercial copyright risks, form the center of the company’s enterprise automation strategy as it seeks to lock in professional workflows.
