Lego Unveils 1,478-Piece ‘The X-Files’ Building Set Featuring Mulder’s Office and UFO Diorama

LEGO has officially revealed a 1,478-piece building kit based on the classic science-fiction franchise The X-Files, bringing Special Agent Fox Mulder’s subterranean basement office and a hovering alien spacecraft to life in brick form.
The toy manufacturer announced the upcoming release with a promotional campaign featuring actress Gillian Anderson, who portrayed FBI Special Agent Dana Scully opposite David Duchovny as Mulder in the original series. The set, designated under product number 21369, carries a price tag of $199.99 and is scheduled for a wide commercial release on August 4. Members of the Lego Insiders program will receive early purchasing access starting August 1, with orders placed through August 10 including a free 221-piece bonus kit recreating Scully’s Lab.
Originating from a fan submission on the crowdsourced Lego Ideas platform, the finished model consists of two separable structural sections. The upper display captures a wooded forest scene with a hovering UFO, while the lower section replicates Mulder’s basement workspace complete with show-accurate details, including the iconic “I Want to Believe” poster, classified case files, and pencils embedded in the ceiling.
The product includes eight character minifigures, featuring Mulder, Scully, and a classic grey alien. The series originally aired for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002 before later returning for two additional television seasons in the mid-2010s alongside two theatrical feature films.
The release coincides with heightened public discussion surrounding government transparency and unidentified aerial phenomena. President Trump previously ordered the public release of legacy government files concerning the subject via a Department of War web portal. Although four distinct batches of documents have been published to date, official confirmation of extraterrestrial life has not been established.
