Viture Launches Lighter Pro 2 Smartglasses with Switch 2 Dock Support

Smartglasses maker Viture has launched its next-generation Viture Pro 2 wearable display alongside a more compact companion dock, targeting the portable gaming and productivity markets with hardware that explicitly supports Nintendo Co.’s upcoming successor to the Switch.

Priced at $299, the Viture Pro 2 weighs 63 grams, making it 20% lighter and 16% thinner than the original Pro model. The headset relies on birdbath-style optics to project images from Sony-made micro-OLED displays, positioning it as a dedicated virtual monitor rather than a competitor to lightweight, camera-equipped social smartglasses like Meta Platforms Inc.’s Ray-Bans.

The updated glasses feature a 50-degree field of view, up from 46 degrees on the previous iteration, while retaining a 1920 x 1080 per-eye resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Viture has focused on eye strain for this generation, introducing what it calls “UltraClarity 3.0” tech. This system pairs a peak brightness of 1,600 nits with a smoother field curvature design to make virtual displays look more natural. Additionally, built-in diopters offer individual adjustments from 0 to -5.00D, allowing some nearsighted users to operate the headset without prescription lens inserts.

To facilitate connections to external devices, Viture also introduced the Mobile Dock Mini for $99. Weighing 250 grams, the new dock is 30% lighter and 34% smaller than its predecessor. It contains a 10,000mAh battery to charge both the glasses and host devices during use. For console gamers, the dock includes a detachable magnetic adapter that can function as a standalone hub, enabling users to connect a Nintendo Switch 2 or other consoles directly to standard televisions and monitors.

The devices require a wired USB-C connection to a compatible smartphone, laptop, or gaming system to display content. Both products are available immediately, with Viture offering a combined bundle priced at $378 to mark its fifth anniversary.
