According to a report from talkSPORT, the Argentine central defender is “set to leave the club this summer” after initiating discussions over his next career step. While several elite clubs across Europe are monitoring the situation, Romero’s preference is a move to LaLiga, with Barcelona believed to be among the primary clubs exploring the feasibility of a transfer.
The development puts Tottenham in a challenging position. Although Romero still has three years remaining on his contract—giving Spurs significant leverage in negotiations—the club must now weigh the financial benefits of a sale against the disruption of losing their defensive anchor and captain.
