Christos Tzolis Favors Arsenal Move Amid Borussia Dortmund Interest
The Club Brugge winger is prepared to wait for the Gunners as Leandro Trossard nears an exit to Besiktas.

Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis has reportedly set his sights on a move to Arsenal, expressing a clear preference to join the Premier League club despite receiving an enquiry from German side Borussia Dortmund.
According to sports journalist Dimitris Manakos, the 24-year-old Greek international is prepared to wait for the Gunners to finalize their move, making them his preferred destination. This development follows a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who stated that Arsenal have already established contact with the representatives of Christos Tzolis.
Trossard Departure Clears the Way
Arsenal’s pursuit of a new left-sided attacker comes as the club prepares to reshape its squad ahead of next season. The Gunners have already agreed to sell Belgian international Leandro Trossard to Turkish club Besiktas for a fee of £17 million.
Leandro Trossard has finalized personal terms with the Istanbul-based team. The formal completion of his transfer to Besiktas is now considered a formality. Once this departure is officially sealed, Arsenal will be positioned to make a final decision on their incoming transfer targets.
Transfer Negotiations and Performance
Arsenal are currently in advanced discussions with Club Brugge regarding the potential transfer of Tzolis. Reports suggest that a package worth £35 million could be agreed soon for a summer transfer. The player has already given his green light to the move.
Tzolis has enjoyed a highly productive spell in Belgium since leaving English side Norwich City. During his previous campaign with Club Brugge, the winger registered 22 goals and 29 assists across 52 appearances in all competitions.
While the Belgian Pro League is generally considered to have lower overall quality compared to the Premier League, Tzolis has demonstrated his capabilities on the European stage. In last season’s Champions League, he recorded goal contributions against top-tier opponents, including Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Atalanta. Known for his pace on the counter-attack and his dribbling ability, the winger has shown he can create and score goals in tight spaces.
Additional Targets
While Tzolis is viewed as a strong candidate to reinforce the left flank, Arsenal are also reportedly looking to secure a marquee signing for the position. Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers has been identified as the primary target for this attacking role. However, the Gunners have not yet submitted a formal transfer proposal to Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers, who is currently representing England at the World Cup.
Club Profiles and Background
Club Brugge and the Belgian Pro League
Club Brugge is one of Belgium’s most decorated football clubs, consistently competing at the highest level of European football. Based in Bruges, the club has established a strong reputation for developing young talent and providing a platform for players to transition to Europe’s top-five leagues. The Belgian Pro League frequently serves as a crucial stepping stone for international prospects.
Norwich City Connection
Before his successful stint in Belgium, Tzolis signed with English club Norwich City in 2021. His initial spell in England proved challenging as he struggled to secure regular playing time in a side fighting relegation from the Premier League. His subsequent development at Club Brugge has revitalized his career, demonstrating significant growth in both decision-making and physical adaptation.
Arsenal’s Left-Wing Tactical Setup
Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s tactical system heavily relies on dynamic wingers who can cut inside, maintain possession in tight spaces, and contribute to defensive pressing. The departure of a versatile player like Trossard necessitates a replacement who can offer both direct goalscoring threat and tactical discipline on the left flank.
