Liverpool Enquires Over Bournemouth Winger Rayan as Post-Salah Succession Plan Takes Shape

Liverpool has initiated contact regarding Bournemouth’s highly-rated Brazilian winger Rayan, signaling the start of a long-term succession plan for star forward Mohamed Salah.

The Merseyside club has held extensive internal discussions about the 19-year-old with their new head coach, Andoni Iraola. Iraola, who previously managed the winger during his tenure at Bournemouth, remains a strong proponent of the teenager’s high ceiling. This existing relationship gives Liverpool a distinct analytical advantage, providing direct insight into the player’s development, tactical adaptability, and daily training habits.

Rayan arrived in English football in January after completing a transfer from historic Brazilian club Vasco da Gama. Since his arrival, the teenager has adjusted rapidly to the physical demands of the Premier League, registering five goals and two assists in 13 starts. The South American winger’s contract contains a £130m release clause, but this clause does not become active until 2027. Liverpool’s interest comes amid fierce competition from Europe’s elite, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain also keeping close tabs on the winger. To mitigate the complexity of the deal, Liverpool is casting a wide net across the European market.
