Fiat is introducing its smallest electric offering to the American market, positioning the Topolino as a high-end alternative to the traditional golf cart. Priced at $13,995 before destination fees, the vehicle becomes the most affordable entry in the Stellantis portfolio in the United States, targeting a specific niche of resort dwellers and gated community residents.

The Topolino arrives with a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a range of 46 miles on a single charge. Its initial performance is strictly limited, with a factory top speed of just 19 mph. Fiat confirmed that charging the unit requires approximately five hours via a 2.3 kW AC connection.

Unlike standard passenger cars, the Topolino is classified as a quadricycle in Europe. In the U.S., it will debut as a vehicle for private property use only. To transition onto public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less, owners will eventually need a conversion kit slated for release in late 2026. This package will elevate the top speed to 25 mph and add mandatory safety features, including a rearview camera and pedestrian alert systems, aligning with federal Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) safety standards.

The vehicle’s footprint is remarkably compact, measuring 2.52 meters in length and weighing 487 kg. Two variants are being offered: a closed standard model and the “Dolcevita” open-roof version, which replaces traditional doors with woven ropes to emphasize a coastal, Mediterranean aesthetic.

Fiat CEO Olivier Francois characterized the launch as a strategic pivot for the brand in North America. He noted that the move prioritizes specialized mobility over traditional automotive performance.

Customization will play a central role in the rollout. Through a partnership with Motori & Customs, Fiat intends to offer bespoke versions of the micro-car, ranging from minor aesthetic tweaks to fully unique builds.
