Volvo Accelerates EV Offensive with EX60 SUV Leading 2026 Launches

Volvo is significantly ramping up its electric vehicle strategy, designating 2026 as a crucial year for major battery electric vehicle (BEV) introductions. The Swedish automaker continues to accelerate its transition towards an entirely electric future.

A brand-new, all-electric SUV will lead Volvo’s 2026 lineup, designed to propel the company’s electric offensive even further. While Volvo remains committed to hybrid technology, electric vehicles are set to dominate its focus in the coming months.

Among these upcoming models, the new Volvo EX60 stands out as the most anticipated. This all-electric SUV is expected to substantially boost Volvo’s electric car sales across its growing European market, generating considerable excitement ahead of its debut.

Positioned between the EX40 and EX90, the EX60’s mid-size design places it firmly in the competitive D-SUV segment. Here, it will challenge rivals such as the BMW iX3, Audi Q6 e-tron, Mercedes GLC, and the Tesla Model Y.

The EX60 will utilize the SPA3 platform, incorporating an advanced 800-volt electric architecture for ultra-fast charging capabilities. This technology allows the SUV to regain more than 300 kilometers of range in just ten minutes. Its impressive range is poised to be a significant differentiator in the market.

Volvo has confirmed the EX60 will deliver a best-in-class range, achieving up to 810 kilometers on a single charge. Production is slated to commence in the first half of this year at Volvo’s Gothenburg facilities in Sweden, with its official unveiling anticipated shortly.
