Anthropic Introduces ‘Reflect’ Dashboard to Help Claude Users Manage AI Screen Time
The new feature brings screen-time limits and prompt optimization tools directly to the Claude chatbot.
Anthropic has introduced a new tool called the Reflect dashboard to help users monitor and manage their interactions with its Claude chatbot. Accessible directly through the settings menu on claude.ai, this feature represents a growing focus on digital wellbeing within the generative artificial intelligence sector.
The new dashboard allows users to generate reports summarizing their chatbot usage over the past month, with options to extend the view to three, six, or twelve months. However, one key metric remains unavailable for now. The “Time spent” tab currently displays a “coming soon” message. According to Ryn Linthicum, Anthropic’s head of wellbeing policy, this omission is due to the company lacking an internal system to measure active time spent on the platform when development on the dashboard began.
To help users regulate their habits, the dashboard offers two primary control mechanisms. Users can configure break reminders that nudge them to step away after 15, 30, or 45 minutes, or after several hours of continuous use. Additionally, a quiet hours feature allows individuals to block their own access to the chatbot during specific times of the day, with customizable schedules for each day of the week. Like traditional screen time tools, these restrictions rely on self-discipline, as users can easily dismiss the notifications or adjust their settings in the Time and focus menu.
Beyond managing usage limits, the platform includes an AI fluency section located at the bottom of the interface. This tool analyzes user behavior to provide personalized recommendations for more efficient prompting. For instance, if a user repeatedly inputs the same background information, Claude may suggest using the Projects feature to group prompts and maintain persistent context, reducing redundant interactions.
This launch comes as major tech companies continue to expand their digital health offerings. While mobile operating systems have long featured native usage trackers, Anthropic’s move marks a rare step by an AI developer to actively encourage healthier boundaries with conversational agents.
