Mourinho’s Madrid survives Inter siege after two-goal blitz built on catastrophic errors

Real Madrid opened its UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday. The match marked a significant European encounter for manager José Mourinho against the club he guided to a historic continental treble in 2010.

In his post-match assessment, Mourinho described the contest as “mad,” noting that it was not the specific brand of chaos he preferred to manage, while acknowledging that the volume of chances at both ends could have significantly altered the final scoreline.
