Week 4 Fantasy Football Start-Sit Guide: Michael Wilson, Aaron Jones and Trevor Lawrence Lead Top Plays

Michael Wilson commands historic target volume while Aaron Jones and Trevor Lawrence headline must-start options ahead of Thursday Night Football.

Michael Wilson has seized control of the Arizona Cardinals’ passing offense, relegating Marvin Harrison Jr. to a secondary role that fantasy managers can no longer afford to ignore. Through the first three weeks of the 2026 NFL season, Wilson is averaging 10.8 targets per game — second only to Detroit’s Amon-Ra St. Brown — while generating 19.1 fantasy points per contest. That production ranks fifth among all wide receivers, trailing only Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Puka Nacua, Chris Olave and St. Brown.

The disparity between Arizona’s two primary pass catchers reached its peak in Week 3 against San Francisco, when Wilson commanded 17 targets compared to five for Harrison. Over the past three seasons, only Ja’Marr Chase and St. Brown have recorded more games with 17 or more targets than Wilson’s two. Harrison has drawn just 20 looks since Week 11 of last season, averaging 4.43 fantasy points over that span. While Harrison missed five games during that stretch, his return to health has not altered offensive coordinator Drew Petzing’s target distribution. Wilson heads into Week 4 against the New York Giants, whose depleted secondary has surrendered the 12th-most fantasy points to the position. Four opposing wideouts — Davante Adams, Wan’Dale Robinson, CeeDee Lamb and Carnell Tate — have already cleared 11 fantasy points against New York this season.

Aaron Jones has silenced preseason concerns about his durability at age 31. Despite being rostered in the starting lineup of just 47% of fantasy leagues entering Week 3 amid Jordan Mason’s placement on injured reserve, Jones delivered 14.2 fantasy points to finish inside the top 15 at the position. He has now exceeded 10 fantasy points in three consecutive games this year and closed the 2025 campaign with a five-game streak above that threshold. His workload has been massive: at least 22 touches and an 80% snap share in back-to-back weeks, a volume matched only by Jonathan Taylor and Ashton Jeanty during the same window. Jones tied a career high with five receptions in Week 3, his most productive receiving performance since 2024. The Miami Dolphins await in Week 4, having allowed a league-high 27.9 fantasy points per game to running backs.

Trevor Lawrence enters Week 4 riding the most efficient stretch of his career under new Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Liam Coen. Lawrence has thrown seven touchdown passes through three weeks while posting a career-best 67% completion rate and a career-low 9% off-target percentage. Although he averaged 17.3 fantasy points per game after taking a knee at the 1-yard line with eight minutes remaining in Week 3 against New England — a decision that prevented him from matching his 19.9 career-high average from last season — his connection with Parker Washington has stabilized the offense. The Cincinnati Bengals present a highly exploitable matchup. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 287 passing yards per game against Cincinnati, which has faced the third-most pass attempts (118) in the league. This contest carries the highest projected point total of the week at 51.5 alongside a tight 2.5-point spread.

Not every early-season narrative has held up. Ladd McConkey entered 2026 as a popular breakout candidate but currently sits 45th among wide receivers in fantasy scoring. The Los Angeles Chargers receiver has drawn just 15 targets across three consecutive losses, including eight over the past two games. While McConkey boasts an 80% catch rate paired with a 13.5 average depth of target, historical data indicates that combination is unsustainable; no wide receiver in the past decade has maintained a 75% catch rate with an aDOT of 13.5 or higher. Head coach Mike McDaniel has yet to adjust the scheme to provide intermediate volume. A Week 4 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks offers little relief, as Seattle has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to receivers at 23.8 per game. Terry McLaurin remains the only player to exceed 10 fantasy points against the Seahawks this season.

Jadarian Price has failed to capitalize on opportunity in the Seattle backfield. The rookie out of Notre Dame ranks 39th among running backs, failing to reach eight fantasy points in any of his three outings. Despite recording five runs of 10 or more yards, Price is trapped in a three-way committee that will soon include Zach Charbonnet. His 35% snap share ranks 45th at the position, and he has fewer rushes than Emanuel Wilson and fewer receptions than George Holani. Ball security has been the primary concern: Price has lost two fumbles in three games, exceeding Kenneth Walker III‘s total fumbles lost across his entire Seahawks career. The Los Angeles Chargers’ defense, coordinated by Chris O’Leary, has forced four fumbles this season and held explosive runners Jeremiyah Love and Ashton Jeanty below 13 fantasy points in Weeks 1 and 2.

Curtis Samuel has emerged as a high-volume asset in Buffalo, drawing targets on 35% of his routes — the seventh-highest rate recorded by any wide receiver over the past decade. In Week 3, Samuel saw 10 targets despite playing only 22 routes due to a shoulder injury, establishing himself as Josh Allen‘s preferred downfield option even with Keon Coleman active. Buffalo’s wide receivers combined for only two 10-plus target games during the entire 2025 season. Samuel faces the New England Patriots in Week 4, whose defense has yielded the 14th-most fantasy points to wideouts despite cornerback Christian Gonzalez’s presence. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (26.2), Jakobi Meyers (19.4) and Parker Washington (13.0) have all posted relevant numbers against Zak Kuhr’s unit.

At tight end, Tommy Tremble has become a viable streaming option for Carolina. His snap share has climbed weekly from 34% to 43% to 49%, culminating in a team-leading eight targets and two red-zone touchdowns in Week 3. With Jalen Coker sidelined, Tremble draws a Week 4 matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have surrendered 100 total fantasy points to tight ends through three games. The Washington Commanders rank second at 64 points allowed to the position, illustrating a 36-point gap between Detroit and the rest of the league. Six different tight ends have scored touchdowns against the Lions, and five have cleared 13 fantasy points.

Fantasy football rosters lock for Week 4 ahead of Thursday Night Football. Managers in seasonal leagues can still finalize lineups before kickoff, while late-season entrants can join public leagues or create private drafts immediately to begin competing this week.
