Enrique’s Bold Choices: Safonov Starts for PSG in Intercontinental Cup Final Against Flamengo
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique made key lineup decisions for the Intercontinental Cup final, benching Ousmane Dembélé and starting Matvey Safonov and Lee Kang-in.

Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain’s coach, named Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to the starting lineup. Safonov featured against Brazil’s Flamengo today, Wednesday, in the Intercontinental Cup Clubs final held in Qatar.
Safonov started in place of regular goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. Enrique also opted to bench Ousmane Dembélé, who recently won “The Best” award. South Korean player Lee Kang-in began the match in the starting eleven.
Flamengo secured their spot in the Intercontinental final by defeating Egypt’s Pyramids FC. They won the Challenge Cup match with a 2-0 score.
