Barcelona Offers Marc Casadó to Manchester United Amid Financial Pressure

Spanish club open to lowering £34 million asking price for midfielder

Barcelona has offered Manchester United the opportunity to sign midfielder Marc Casadó as the Spanish club attempts to clear salary space and satisfy financial regulations.

Spanish source Diario Sport has reported that Manchester United have been presented with an opportunity to sign Marc Casado by Barcelona with the Catalans prepared to sell the La Masia graduate in order to balance their books.

The move comes as Barcelona works within La Liga financial fair play restrictions, which limit squad spending relative to club revenues. Casadó, who signed a contract extension through June 2028 after captaining Barca Atlètic, made 31 appearances for the reserve side in the 2023–24 season alongside four first-team appearances under former manager Xavi Hernández.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Barca were seeking £34 million for Casado’s services earlier in the summer but as they are now looking to move on from him, there might be room to negotiate the Spanish youngster’s asking price.

Manchester United has monitored central midfield targets to strengthen squad depth and tactical flexibility. During his season with Barca Atlètic, Casadó recorded a 91 percent pass completion rate while averaging 2.4 tackles per 90 minutes in central midfield.
