MasterCraft Integrates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Across Pontoon Boat Lines
The included Savvy Navvy app will offer charts, smart routing, marina locations and boat traffic.
MasterCraft Boat Holdings Inc. will begin equipping its pontoon boat lineups with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto starting next month, bringing automotive-style smartphone integration to helm displays through a partnership with marine navigation maker Savvy Navvy.
The integration will debut on 2027 models across MasterCraft’s Crest and Balise sub-brands, marking the first time a major recreational marine manufacturer has offered the connected phone interfaces as standard factory equipment.
Standard road-based vehicle navigation platforms cannot handle open water pilotage. To provide aquatic routing, helm displays on all new Balise models as well as Crest Conquest and Caribbean series will launch with Savvy Navvy as the default navigation app when paired with a smartphone via wired connection or Bluetooth.
The system provides specialized marine features including 2D and 3D chart views, intelligent route plotting, live boat traffic monitoring, estimated arrival times, live location sharing, and searchable directories for marinas, harbours, and anchorages.
“Boaters have been asking for a modern infotainment system for years,” said Savvy Navvy CEO Jelte Liebrand. “Plan your trip on the couch, step aboard, and it is already at the helm.”
Customers purchasing the 2027 Crest and Balise vessels will receive complementary access to Savvy Navvy Premium. The updated application is also available on iOS and Android for installation on compatible aftermarket marine head units.
