Arsenal and Chelsea Target Lille Forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo in £30 Million Transfer Battle

Chelsea and Arsenal are tracking LOSC Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo ahead of potential summer moves, according to a report from CaughtOffside, setting up a competitive Premier League transfer tussle for the Belgian prospect.

The 21-year-old attacker, valued at around £30 million by Transfermarkt, remains tied to the French club through 2029, giving Lille substantial leverage in any prospective negotiations. The 6-foot-2 forward has drawn attention across Europe for his tactical flexibility, possessing the capability to operate as a central striker or cover both wings.

Chelsea’s interest comes amid an ongoing overhaul of their wide options, despite missing out on European qualification for next season. The Stamford Bridge club recently sanctioned Alejandro Garnacho’s departure to Aston Villa after the Argentinian struggled during his initial season in London following a move from Manchester United. Chelsea subsequently secured Morgan Rogers from Villa for a significant fee, having previously brought in Jamie Gittens alongside Garnacho last summer.

Reigning Premier League champions Arsenal are also evaluating Fernandez-Pardo as manager Mikel Arteta seeks further depth in broad attacking positions. The Gunners have already adjusted their forward corps this window, signing Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge to replace Leandro Trossard following his transfer to Turkish side Besiktas. While Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior remains Arsenal’s primary target, Fernandez-Pardo has emerged as a key candidate on their target board.

Liverpool have similarly identified the Belgian as an alternative target should they fail to secure Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. The Merseyside club is concurrently assessing other options in the market, including AFC Bournemouth’s Rayan and Brighton and Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh.
