Premier League Trio Lock in £65 Million Transfer Race for Victor Osimhen

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Manchester United are engaged in a three-way Premier League transfer pursuit for Nigerian international forward Victor Osimhen, with Galatasaray valuing the striker at £65 million this summer.

Journalist Ekrem Konur reported that both Chelsea and Manchester United have joined Tottenham in tracking the former Napoli marksman. The £65 million valuation represents a significant drop from the figures Napoli previously sought during prior transfer windows, rendering a move to English football considerably more feasible.

Osimhen cemented his reputation among Europe’s elite center-forwards during Napoli’s 2022–23 campaign, leading the club to its first Serie A title in 33 years while winning the Capocannoniere with 26 league goals and earning the 2023 African Footballer of the Year award. His temporary departure from Italy to Istanbul in September 2024 followed lengthy negotiations over a €130 million release clause in his Napoli contract.

At Chelsea, Osimhen is viewed as an ideal target to anchor the attack in a sporting project led by Xabi Alonso. His arrival could shift Joao Pedro to the left wing, providing the Blues with two reliable goal-scorers while taking advantage of Osimhen’s physical presence, aerial ability, and intelligent link-up play in the box.

Manchester United are eyeing Osimhen to bolster their frontline ahead of a return to the UEFA Champions League. A potential move could hinge on offloading Joshua Zirkzee, positioning Osimhen to compete directly with Benjamin Sesko while adding proven European experience, highlighted by his 10 goal contributions in 10 Champions League matches for Galatasaray.

While Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly shown advanced interest in securing the 28-year-old forward, Osimhen’s final choice may depend on joining a squad immediately primed to compete for major trophies following a season in Turkey where he delivered 22 goals and eight assists.
