Manchester United Launch Retro Blue Away Kit Ahead of Pre-Season European Tour
Manchester United have officially unveiled their away kit for the 2026/27 season, introducing a blue color scheme inspired by classic designs from the late 1980s as head coach Michael Carrick prepares for his first full campaign in charge.
The new strip will make its match debut on Friday when United take on Norwegian side Rosenborg at Trondheim’s Lerkendal Stadion. The game forms part of a summer friendly schedule across Scandinavia and Ireland, following an opening pre-season setback against Wrexham in Helsinki.
Historically, blue kits have accompanied major European milestones for the club. Manchester United famously captured their first European Cup in 1968 wearing blue, and later won the 2017 UEFA Europa League title in a similar colorway at Stockholm’s Strawberry Arena—where they are scheduled to return on August 1 for a match against Atlético Madrid.
Manufactured by Adidas, the shirt features tonal vertical striping throughout the fabric, complemented by red and white accents on the V-neck collar and cuffs. Red three-stripes run across the shoulders, while the chest displays the Adidas Trefoil emblem, the traditional club crest, and primary sponsor Snapdragon. The lightweight performance construction is engineered for fit and mobility, with players including Kobbie Mainoo, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Jess Park headlining the product release.
The standard adult replica shirt is available for £85, with long-sleeved editions priced at £90, while authentic player-spec jerseys start at £120. Youth shirts begin at £60, baby kits at £40, matching shorts range between £30 and £38, and socks are priced at £20. Fans can purchase the range via the official Manchester United online store and selected retail platforms.
Following their fixtures in Norway and Sweden, United will face Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg on August 8, before taking on Leeds United at Dublin’s Croke Park on August 12 and AC Milan in Wroclaw on August 15.
The warm-up tour serves as crucial preparation for Carrick, who earned the permanent managerial role following a strong interim period during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign. United open their Premier League season away to newly promoted Hull City on Saturday, August 22, in a campaign slated to run until May 30, 2027.
