Swift and Kelce Marry at Madison Square Garden in Unprecedented Fusion of Pop and Sport
Pop icon and NFL star exchange vows in a high-security Manhattan ceremony.

The “World’s Most Famous Arena” served as the backdrop for what may be the definitive celebrity union of the decade. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce married Friday night at Madison Square Garden, an event that transformed the Midtown Manhattan landmark from a sports coliseum into a private sanctuary for the intersection of the NFL and the global music industry.
The scale of the event was signaled only after its conclusion, when the arena’s marquee displayed the message “JUST&T MARRIED.”
The ceremony, described by Good Morning America hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts as an “intimate” garden within the massive venue, was shielded by a strict ban on mobile devices. Despite the secrecy, the guest list read like a census of American stardom. Attendees included Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, director Steven Spielberg, and actress Zoë Kravitz, alongside Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid and teammates like Kareem Hunt.
Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed that the wedding party remained a family affair. Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as man of honor, while Jason Kelce acted as best man for his brother.
In a choice that bridged the couple’s professional worlds, actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Sandler, a friend of the couple who recently featured Travis Kelce in the upcoming sequel to Happy Gilmore, provided a paternal presence for the 36-year-old bride and groom. Stevie Nicks provided the evening’s musical performance.
The nuptials represent a rare merger of two dominant American cultural forces. Swift, a megastar whose career has been defined by her lyrical explorations of romance, wore Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, paired with Cartier jewelry. Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champ, also wore custom Dior and Christian Louboutin shoes.
The union follows a relationship that began in 2023, after Kelce famously attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet at her Eras Tour.
Outside the arena, the atmosphere was a mix of high-security SUV motorcades and gathered fans. Associated Press footage captured a line of black vehicles arriving as “Swifties” congregated in the Manhattan heat. The marriage marks the first for both Swift and Kelce, occurring at a venue more traditionally associated with historic NBA games than private vows.
