Azerbaijani champion Sabah FK will make its debut in major European competition Thursday evening at Old Trafford, taking on Manchester United in a historic UEFA Champions League fixture. Manchester United enters the contest seeking to correct recent European opening-day struggles. United has failed to win its opening match in each of its last four major European campaigns, recording one draw and three losses since a 2-1 away victory over Paris Saint-Germain in October 2020. For Manchester United, three-time European champions, the match marks a return to the Champions League following a three-year absence.
