Range Rover GT Spotted Low to the Ground on UK Streets
New street photos confirm the upcoming grand tourer will ride significantly lower than existing models on JLR's new EMA platform.

A Range Rover GT prototype is riding inches off the pavement. Photos posted to Instagram by letsdriveukk show the camouflaged test vehicle parked on a residential street in the United Kingdom, revealing a ride height drastically lower than any current model in the lineup.
The rear bumper sits almost flush with the curb. That stance confirms what Jaguar Land Rover signaled when it first showed a covered version of the vehicle in July 2026: the GT will function as a grand tourer rather than a traditional SUV. It becomes the fifth member of the Range Rover family, joining the standard Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar and Range Rover Evoque.
Dropping the center of gravity cuts aerodynamic drag. For an electric vehicle, that translates directly into range. The GT is the first model confirmed for Jaguar Land Rover’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform. The flagship Range Rover Electric uses the older Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). EMA was engineered strictly for battery power, but shifting buyer demand forced the automaker to rework the platform to accept hybrid powertrains. A future GT variant will likely pair a gasoline engine with an electric motor.

Body roll should be minimal compared to taller crossovers. Earlier testing footage released by the company showed the prototype running through sand and snow, suggesting engineers retained some off-road capability despite the road-focused suspension tuning.
The prototype wears a gold, white and black camouflage wrap designed by Range Rover’s in-house creative team. According to the automaker, the flowing gold pattern maps the topography around its engineering headquarters in Gaydon, England.
Production specifications remain unconfirmed. Jaguar Land Rover has not announced a launch date, though industry expectations point to a full reveal by early 2027. The upcoming Defender Sport is also slated to use the EMA platform.
