Milan brought in Ramos to inject depth into a forward line that has struggled with consistency across recent Serie A campaigns. The Portuguese international previously spent time at Paris Saint-Germain after emerging through Benfica‘s youth system, where he scored 39 goals across all competitions over two senior seasons before departing France.

Atalanta arrived in Milan sitting near the top of the Serie A table, continuing the aggressive pressing structure that has defined their tactical approach under their current coaching staff. The Bergamo side reached the Europa League final last season and have maintained a reputation as one of the most difficult road fixtures in Italian soccer.

Ramos watched portions of the contest from the sideline before entering the rotation. His integration into Milan’s attacking setup will determine how quickly the club can close the gap on league leaders during the congested autumn schedule, which includes midweek European fixtures beginning later this month.

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza hosted a capacity crowd for the weekend fixture. Milan’s next scheduled league match takes place away from home later this week.
