Everton targets Gabriel Jesus in squad overhaul ahead of stadium move
The Toffees seek a discounted deal for the Brazilian forward to lead their attack at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton has identified Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus as a primary target in a summer recruitment drive aimed at securing European qualification for the club’s first full season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Merseyside club, which finished 13th last season—four points shy of a European spot—is looking to restructure its attacking options. According to reports from Football Insider, Everton has initiated contact with Arsenal regarding the Brazilian international, whose tenure at the Emirates Stadium appears to be concluding.
Arsenal has reportedly set an asking price of approximately £20 million for the striker. However, Everton is expected to push for a lower valuation, citing the player’s recent injury history and the significant wage demands associated with his current contract.
Jesus spent much of the 2025/26 campaign recovering from an ACL rupture. Despite limited appearances, he recorded six goals and two assists across all competitions. His position in Mikel Arteta’s squad has become increasingly marginalized following the emergence of Kai Havertz and the acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres.
The pursuit of Jesus aligns with a broader procurement strategy to integrate proven Premier League experience into the squad. Everton has also been linked with potential moves for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and John Stones as part of this veteran-led overhaul aimed at stabilizing the club’s top-flight performance.
If the transfer proceeds, Jesus would likely be positioned as a senior alternative to Thierno Barry. For the deal to materialize, both Arsenal and Jesus may need to adjust their financial expectations to accommodate Everton’s current budgetary framework and wage structure.
