Amazon Integrates Luna Cloud Gaming Service Directly Into Prime Video Interface
Fire TV users in the US and UK can now stream video games alongside movies and TV shows.
Amazon has officially integrated its Luna cloud gaming platform directly into the Prime Video ecosystem, allowing users to stream video games alongside movies, television shows, and live events without downloading software or purchasing dedicated gaming consoles.
The service integration launched for Prime subscribers using Fire TV devices across the United States and the United Kingdom. Under the updated interface, users will find a dedicated Games tab positioned within the top navigation bar of the Prime Video application. Amazon confirmed plans to expand the embedded feature to additional hardware platforms and international territories in the coming months.
Through this unified experience, active Prime members can play titles from the library at no extra cost by using a smartphone as a virtual controller or by pairing a Bluetooth gamepad, including the official Amazon Luna controller. The rotating catalog of titles, which updates on a monthly schedule, features notable releases such as Fallout 4, Control, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Dispatch, and EA Sports FC 26, alongside family and party games like Ticket to Ride, Clue, and Taboo.
The strategic move aligns video games with streaming video content to encourage cross-media discovery. For instance, viewers watching the film Masters of the Universe inside the app can instantly transition to playing the co-op action game Masters of the Universe: Legends Unite within the exact same software environment.
By hosting interactive titles within its primary streaming portal, Amazon leverages its vast cloud infrastructure powered by Amazon Web Services to stream gameplay real-time over internet connections. This architecture offloads heavy computational processing from local home hardware to remote servers, offering high-end gaming experiences without requiring expensive hardware investments from consumers.
The decision reflects broader shifts across entertainment platforms seeking higher user engagement. Media rival Netflix has similarly expanded its TV-based cloud game initiatives since late 2021, recently pointing to early successes with interactive titles like Unhinged. By bringing cloud gaming directly into Prime Video rather than isolating it as a standalone app, Amazon significantly increases exposure for its gaming division among millions of existing streaming households.
