Genesis Debuts Flagship GV90 EV Retaining Pillarless Coach Doors
Production Model Retains Concept Styling and High-Voltage E-GMP Architecture
Genesis has officially brought its top-tier electric vehicle vision to production, introducing the flagship GV90 to lead its lineup. The vehicle traces its styling directly back to the Neolun concept shown a couple of years ago, where designers established a streamlined luxury SUV silhouette featuring a four-seat interior, swiveling front seats, a mixture of leather, wool, and wood, and no B pillar. Official production imagery confirms that the vehicle retains those defining concept design cues for market release.
Underneath the exterior design, the GV90 uses the same 800 V E-GMP platform as other Korean electric three-row SUVs, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. A three-row, seven-seat GV90 will form part of the standard commercial range. For the initial rollout, however, Genesis is just focusing on the four-seat GV90 and the high-end GV90 Neolum; the latter faithfully translates most of the concept, including the pillarless coach doors, which Genesis is calling the Neolum Arch Gate.
The underlying 800-volt architecture allows high-power direct-current fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 18 minutes under optimal conditions. Sharing this underlying platform across brands enables Hyundai Motor Group to scale its electrification hardware while allowing Genesis to engineer specialized interior configurations and luxury chassis tuning for its flagship buyers.
The GV90 Neolum is a variant with no B pillar and coach doors.

Integrating pillarless coach doors adds substantial visual presence, a design Genesis previously told Ars required dedicated crash-structure engineering to meet mass-production crash safety mandates. To address occupant safety without traditional structural support, every GV90 comes equipped with the world’s first roof airbag engineered to protect passengers during a rollover, serving as one of 12 airbags integrated throughout the cabin.
