Arsenal and Tottenham Tracking Mexican Prodigy Hugo Camberos After Scouting Mission

North London rivals sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old Guadalajara winger score during Mexico U20 duty.

North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have emerged as potential suitors for Mexican attacker Hugo Camberos following impressive displays by the teenager on the international stage.

According to Mexican broadcast outlet TUDN, talent evaluators from both Premier League clubs were in attendance during the recent U20 CONCACAF Championship, specifically monitoring the 19-year-old as he featured in Mexico’s 4-0 victory against Guatemala. Camberos capped the performance with a goal, reinforcing growing European interest in his development at Liga MX club GD Guadalajara.

Primarily a right-sided winger who possesses the flexibility to operate on the left flank, Camberos has caught the attention of recruiters through his direct dribbling style, acceleration, and crossing accuracy from wide areas. The Chivas prospect currently holds an estimated market valuation of around £2 million according to Transfermarkt data, with two years remaining on his existing contract in Guadalajara.

While the Mexican outfit remains under no immediate financial pressure to sell, formal approaches from top-tier English sides would severely test their resolve to retain the young forward beyond the current transfer window.

Tottenham’s interest aligns with a broader effort to revitalize their attacking options, where squad building under the current management has seen significant changes across multiple positions. Arsenal, meanwhile, maintain substantial depth on the right flank with Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke, but continue to survey international markets for long-term wide targets following recent shuffling in their attacking ranks, including the departure of Leandro Trossard and the addition of Christos Tzolis.
