Egypt’s national football team, under the guidance of head coach Hossam Hassan, has turned its attention to the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa, scheduled for next Friday.

The shift in focus comes after the Pharaohs concluded their opening Group Stage fixture against Zimbabwe on Monday evening. Players who featured prominently in the Zimbabwe match will undergo recovery training sessions designed to alleviate muscle fatigue and prevent injuries. The remainder of the squad will participate in a full training session in preparation for the encounter with “Bafana Bafana.”

The technical staff is also set to hold a meeting with the players today. This session will involve a detailed analysis of the team’s performance against “The Warriors” (Zimbabwe’s national team nickname), aiming to identify and rectify individual errors before the crucial match against South Africa.
