Liverpool’s Fatigue Exposed in Fulham Stalemate

LIVERPOOL, England — Liverpool’s multi-front campaign showed its physical and mental cost at Anfield, where a hard-fought, goalless draw against a highly disciplined Fulham exposed the fine margins between tactical ambition and exhaustion in the modern football calendar.

Fulham substitute Kevin then sent a deep cross toward an unmarked Rodrigo Muniz, whose heavy touch allowed Liverpool’s defense to escape.

Kerkez headed away a dangerous ball intended for Kevin, denying Fulham a potential late volley. In stoppage time, Isak found space at the near post from a corner, but his effort lacked the necessary clinical touch and flashed across the face of goal and wide.

Fulham’s organized defensive structure neutralized Liverpool’s explosive transitions and allowed the London side to threaten on the counter-attack by targeting the hosts’ high-risk build-up play from the back. Fulham will leave Merseyside buoyed by that display, while lingering regrets remain over the missed chances that could have secured a historic win.
