Hyundai’s Staria minivan has been on sale for over five years. The company now implements updates to its largest minivan quietly. Automakers recognize minivans are regaining prominence. This vehicle format sees a resurgence with electric models. The upcoming global presentation of the new Mercedes VLE will soon impact this segment.

The Mercedes VLE will offer both electric and hybrid powertrains. Hyundai has responded by introducing the 2026 Staria. This update brings significant changes across various aspects. Some of these changes may appear less prominent than anticipated. Hyundai typically refreshes models after two and a half years. The Staria’s futuristic design allowed for a longer update cycle. Subtle Changes Inside and Out for the Hyundai Staria 2026

Hyundai implemented several visual changes for the Staria. These updates are more significant than they first appear. The thin LED daytime running light strip now runs continuously. This strip sits above the wedge-shaped hood. Previously, it was segmented into three pieces. Full LED headlights for both low and high beams remain in their original position. The large grille housing these lights features a new decorative pattern. This pattern, chrome on the Lounge model, covers both the upper and lower sections.

Hyundai has not mentioned any changes to the rear of the vehicle. This suggests the rear design remains intact. Vertical taillights are still installed in the pillars. The 2026 Staria also features interior updates. These interior changes are similar in scope to the exterior revisions. The dashboard layout itself remains unchanged. Hyundai replaced the digital instrument cluster with a larger 12.3-inch screen. The previous screen measured 10.25 inches. A new steering wheel also debuts.

The central console now conveys a more refined feel. The multimedia system’s touchscreen expanded to 12.3 inches. Hyundai removed the automatic climate control’s touch buttons. New physical buttons now replace them. The automatic gear selector also moved from its previous console location. It now sits on the steering column for the Lounge variant.

The new Hyundai Staria 2026 debuted in South Korea. It offers diverse seating configurations there. Buyers can choose seven, nine, or eleven seats. A van option also exists with two, three, or five side seats. The South Korean market receives a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 240 hp. This engine runs on both gasoline and LPG.
