TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 Sets San Francisco Startup Activity in Motion

San Francisco prepares for more than 10,000 technology founders, investors, and industry leaders this October

SAN FRANCISCO — More than 10,000 founders, investors, operators, and industry leaders are expected at Moscone West for TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, scheduled for October 13–15. The three-day conference is regarded as a key indicator of venture capital sentiment and early-stage startup activity.

The early-registration pricing window is set to close Friday, Sept. 25, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Attendees who register before then can save up to $200, after which tiered ticket rates will increase.

The conference’s 2026 programming is built around highly capitalized and foundational technology sectors. Its main stages and breakout sessions will cover Artificial Intelligence, including the scaling of foundational models, enterprise integration, and the commercialization of generative technologies; Fintech, with changes in payment infrastructure, digital banking regulations, and global transactional security; Robotics, focused on hardware automation, computer vision, and physical-digital integration; and Infrastructure, covering data storage, cloud systems, and the hardware backends required for high-compute applications.

San Francisco’s commercial and technological core is undergoing a broader revitalization following a period of shifting work patterns. The city has seen a significant concentration of new venture funding and development, particularly from artificial intelligence and deep tech companies. Large-scale summits at the Moscone Center complex support the local hospitality, retail, and tourism sectors by drawing thousands of international visitors downtown.

The Startup Battlefield has historically been the focal point of the Disrupt series, combining a startup showcase with pitch competitions. Companies that emerged from the event and its predecessor iterations include cloud storage provider Dropbox, personal finance application Mint, wearable technology pioneer Fitbit, and web infrastructure company Cloudflare. The competition has served as an early launchpad for numerous companies that later reached multi-billion-dollar valuations.

For the 2026 conference, organizers are presenting the Startup Battlefield 200, a curated cohort of early-stage startups chosen from a global pool of applicants. The selected companies will have dedicated exhibition space on the convention center floor, where they can present their products to active venture capital firms, corporate development officers, and potential enterprise customers.

The program’s emphasis differs from earlier editions that heavily featured mobile consumer applications and decentralized finance. Networking will include dedicated meeting spaces, structured 1:1 interaction zones, and AI-driven matchmaking applications intended to connect founders with capital allocators whose investment criteria align with their business models.

As the Sept. 25 early-bird pricing deadline approaches, organizers expect registration volume to accelerate. Moscone West is close to San Francisco’s primary transit links and commercial centers, providing access for local Bay Area developers as well as international delegations attending the three-day schedule.
