TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 Opens Monday in San Francisco With AI-Focused Agenda
Three-day conference at Moscone West focuses on building enduring companies in the AI era with 200+ sessions and 200 Battlefield competitors

TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 opens Monday at San Francisco‘s Moscone West for a three-day run centered on a single question facing the startup ecosystem: how to build companies that survive the AI transformation. The conference, running October 13-15, arrives as founders navigate a fundraising environment that has grown more selective since the 2021 peak, while AI adoption shifts from experimental to operational across every sector.
The event’s six stages reflect that pragmatism. The AI Stage and Real World AI Stage address model deployment, agents, and the move of artificial intelligence into robotics, manufacturing, healthcare, and defense. The Smart Systems Stage tackles the infrastructure bottleneck — chips, compute, energy, and data centers — that determines which AI companies can scale. The Smart Money Stage covers fintech, stablecoins, embedded finance, and AI-driven financial services. The Builders Stage focuses on tactical execution: fundraising, hiring, go-to-market, and product scaling. The Disrupt Stage hosts broader conversations with industry leaders.
Speakers illustrate the range. RJ Scaringe of Rivian will discuss building generational hardware companies. Panos Panay from Amazon addresses product design at scale. Paolo Ardoino of Tether bridges crypto infrastructure and AI. Bluesky’s Toni Schneider and Rose Wang examine whether social networking can restart. Replit’s Amjad Masad argues every founder must become technical. Cerebras’ Andrew Feldman speaks to the compute arms race.
Startup Battlefield, the conference’s signature pitch competition, selected 200 companies on August 20 from a global applicant pool. Those founders undergo intensive pitch coaching before presenting onstage to top-tier venture capitalists. Past participants report measurable outcomes: one 2025 finalist saw a 3x oversubscription rate and more than 100 investor inbounds; another conducted nearly 30 back-to-back investor meetings after their stage appearance. The winner receives $100,000 equity-free, but the exposure for all 200 competitors drives the program’s value.
The conference structures networking by founder stage. Pre-seed and idea-stage attendees are directed toward the Builders Stage, Battlefield semifinalist pitches, Expo Hall, and industry roundtables. Founders actively raising capital receive access to investor-matchmaking tools, the Deal Flow Café for one-on-one VC meetings, and fundraising-focused sessions. Scaling companies targeting talent and partnerships use the same networking infrastructure plus Side Events organized by industry and interest.
TechCrunch has operated Disrupt for more than two decades across New York, San Francisco, and other markets. This year’s edition includes two discount programs: founders can bring a team member at 50% off, and a limited number of $75 Expo+ passes are available for workers affected by 2024-2025 layoffs. Standard pricing increases as the event approaches.
Registration remains open through the conference start on Monday, October 13 at Moscone West.
