Stones Trigger Recall of So Delicious Salted Caramel Frozen Dessert
Danone USA pulls Salted Caramel Cluster pints over possible stone contamination

Danone USA has initiated a voluntary recall of its flagship So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints after receiving direct complaints from consumers. The product may contain physical contaminants, specifically small stones and other hard foreign objects embedded within the cashew ingredients.
The nationwide recall applies to pints labeled with best-by dates on and before April 3, 2028. The affected products carry Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) number 136603 and Universal Product Code (UPC) 744473476138.

Danone USA has advised consumers who purchased the specified Salted Caramel Cluster pints to immediately cease consuming the product. The company has established a dedicated customer service channel through the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975 to facilitate refunds or replacement vouchers.
The recalled pints were distributed to retail outlets throughout the United States, according to Danone USA. The company has mobilized its retail partners to systematically locate and remove remaining inventory of the affected SKU from store shelves. No other flavors, product lines, or formats under the So Delicious brand are included, and subsequent shipments of the Salted Caramel Cluster flavor are unaffected.
Cashews can pick up agricultural debris such as pebbles or soil clumps because they are typically harvested after falling to the ground or are shaken from trees. Commercial processing facilities use specialized pneumatic separators, optical sorting technologies, and gravity tables to filter out foreign objects, but minor fragments can occasionally bypass these safety hurdles and remain hidden within raw ingredients used by dessert manufacturers.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been formally notified of the voluntary recall. Under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), the FDA maintains strict hazard analysis and risk-based preventive control regulations requiring food processors to identify and mitigate potential physical hazards that could pose a choking risk or cause dental or gastrointestinal injury to consumers.

Danone USA operates as the North American subsidiary of Paris-based multinational food giant Danone S.A. and is one of the largest certified B Corporations in the world. Its presence in the plant-based market expanded significantly through the landmark $12.5 billion acquisition of WhiteWave Foods in 2017.
That transaction integrated dairy-free pioneers including Silk and So Delicious Dairy Free. So Delicious Dairy Free was originally established in Oregon in 1987 under the name Turtle Mountain, while Danone USA has continued operating the brand as part of its North American portfolio.
