Real Estate Agent Finds Seven Cats Trapped in Walls of Listing Home
Mother cat and six kittens found hidden in walls during home listing prep

A real estate agent rescues kittens and a mother cat from inside a home’s walls while preparing the property for a listing appointment.
What began as a routine property check turned into a rescue operation after the agent heard faint meowing sounds emanating from within the structure. Investigation revealed mother cat and six kittens hidden within the home’s walls and ceiling cavities.
The discovery unfolded in stages. Initially, the agent found a single kitten trapped inside a wall. Subsequent investigation in the powder room ceiling revealed five additional kittens and their mother. Captions posted with the rescue sequence indicate the first kitten had been adopted before the agent returned to locate the larger group.
Extracting the animals required modifications to the property. The agent cut openings in the drywall and used a flashlight to locate an accessible crawl space, identifying where the noise originated from the other side. After removing spray foam insulation blocking the cavity, the animals were freed.
Stray cats found in walls of house often seek shelter in these spaces, drawn by insulation warmth and protection from predators. These incidents often complicate home sales, as animal presence can indicate entry points left open during renovations or construction that require sealing.
During home listing preparation, agents often advise thorough checks of attics and crawl spaces before listing to prevent surprises. Sellers may also face undisclosed damage concerns, as animals hiding in structures can leave odors or damage wiring and insulation, issues that typically surface during the inspection phase of a transaction.
All seven animals were rescued and placed in homes. The agent confirmed the adoption of the group, though he did not disclose whether the property has since gone under contract or closed.
