Bitmine Expands Ether Treasury to 5.79 Million ETH as Staking Yields Near $300 Million
The corporate treasury operator controls 4.8% of circulating Ether while building out its validator staking model.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies boosted its position as the world’s largest corporate holder of Ether this week, purchasing nearly 10,000 ETH to bring its total reserves to 5.79 million tokens.
The accumulation places approximately 4.8% of the cryptocurrency’s total circulating supply under the company’s control. Unlike traditional balance sheet strategies that rely solely on asset price appreciation, Bitmine is actively monetizing its holdings via network consensus. About 4.9 million ETH—roughly 85% of its total balance—is staked through its validator operations and partner infrastructure. The company projects annualized staking rewards of approximately $299 million once all of its Ether is fully deployed across its network nodes.
As of July 26, Bitmine reported total reserves of $11.8 billion across cash, digital asset holdings, and marketable securities.
The expansion comes during a period of divergence between the two largest digital assets by market value. Over the seven days leading into July 27, Ether gained roughly 2.4% while Bitcoin fell about 0.7%, according to market tracking from CoinGecko. In an announcement on Monday, Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee noted that the rising ETH/BTC ratio reached a three-month high, signaling strengthening momentum for Ether.
Bitmine’s active accumulation also highlights a growing strategic contrast with Strategy, the public company holding the largest total digital asset treasury with 843,775 BTC. While Bitmine continues expanding its token reserves, Strategy paused its Bitcoin purchases in recent weeks to build cash liquidity. On Monday, Strategy disclosed that it raised $544.5 million through stock sales, repurchased $25 million of its STRC preferred shares, and increased its U.S. dollar cash reserve to $3.75 billion.
