Cairo Police Arrest Man for Extorting Drivers in Saqr Quraish After Viral Video

The Ministry of Interior’s security agencies have addressed a recent social media video. The video, widely circulated, showed a microbus driver reporting an assault and verbal abuse. This incident stemmed from his refusal to pay a fee for passing through Cairo’s Saqr Quraish area.

Police investigations confirmed no prior official complaints existed regarding the incident. Officers identified and apprehended the perpetrator, a worker residing within the Al-Basateen police department’s jurisdiction.
