Apple Extends Free Satellite Access for iPhone Users

Eligible iPhone users get another year of complimentary satellite communication access

Users with an iPhone 14 or any subsequent model remain eligible for complimentary satellite access if they activated the functionality prior to Sept. 9.

The eligibility footprint includes standard models as well as specialized iterations such as the iPhone 17e. Newer hardware, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, is also covered.

In Cupertino, Calif., Apple Inc. has extended complimentary access to its satellite communication platform for an additional 12 months. The move continues a pattern of deferring subscription fees for off-grid emergency and messaging features across its smartphone lineup.
