Verizon Charges $10 Monthly for iPhone Handoff, Double T-Mobile’s Rate
Carrier pricing doubles competitor rates for dual-device eSIM access

Verizon is monetizing Apple’s new cross-device connectivity feature with a price tag that dwarfs its competitors. The carrier confirmed that “iPhone Handoff,” which allows users to run two devices on a single eSIM number under iOS 27, will cost subscribers $10 per month.
The fee represents a significant premium over other global operators offering the same functionality. T-Mobile currently charges $5 monthly for the service in the United States, while Deutsche Telekom provides similar access in Germany. Verizon’s announcement positions the feature as a paid add-on rather than a standard network capability, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone Duo hardware bundle.
Under the protocol, two iPhones sharing an Apple ID can operate on one cellular plan. The system does not support simultaneous active calls; instead, it requires the user to designate one device as primary at any given moment. Switching between phones is automated—unlocking the secondary device triggers a transfer of voice, messaging, and Find My services without manual reconfiguration.
Setup occurs within the iOS Settings menu, navigating through Cellular options to assign the eSIM profile to the second handset. Apple advises maintaining distinct passcodes on both devices to secure control over which unit holds the active line. iCloud data remains synced across the pair regardless of which phone is currently transmitting signals.
