Weather shifts ALCS as Brewers reach World Series
ALCS Game 4 rescheduled for Saturday; Brewers face AL champion in World Series

Weather has disrupted the Tampa Bay Rays-Cleveland Guardians American League Championship Series schedule this week. After Game 3’s start time was moved up to avoid bad weather and Game 4 was postponed Friday, Oct. 16, the series resumes Saturday, Oct. 17 in Cleveland.
What was originally Game 5 is now Game 4, with first pitch at 7 p.m. It could be the first of four consecutive playing days if the series returns to Tampa.
No rain is expected Saturday at Progressive Field, but temperatures will drop into the 40s. The Guardians lead the series 2-1 after winning Game 3 over 48 hours earlier.
Pitching decisions remain unchanged. The Rays will start 15-game winner Nick Martinez, while Cleveland will use a bullpen game beginning with Shawn Armstrong.
Game 4 will air on TBS and truTV, with Sling available for streaming.
The winner of the ALCS meets the Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series, scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 23. Milwaukee swept the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 to close the National League Championship Series Thursday, Oct. 15.
The ALCS is a best-of-seven with a 2-3-2 format. Game 5 is set for Sunday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. Games 6 and 7, if necessary, move to Tampa: Monday, Oct. 19 and Tuesday, Oct. 20, both at 7 p.m.
The AL bracket shows Houston Astros (3) losing to Chicago White Sox (6) 2-0 in the wild-card round, and New York Yankees (4) defeating Boston Red Sox (5) 2-0. In the division series, Tampa Bay (1) swept New York Yankees (4) 3-0, while Cleveland (2) edged Chicago White Sox (6) 3-2.
Nick Martinez posted a 15-6 record and 3.10 ERA in the regular season. Armstrong went 2-1 with a 4.58 ERA.

The Brewers’ NLCS victory was sealed at Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium on Oct. 15, where Jake Bauers received the Most Valuable Player trophy and Christian Yelich held the Warren C. Giles Trophy.

Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy made several pitching changes during the series-clinching game, with DL Hall, Trevor Megill, and Abner Uribe celebrating in the clubhouse afterward.

Brewers supporters filled Milwaukee bars on game night, reacting to the comeback that propelled the team past the Dodgers 6-4.
The ALCS originally appeared as a separate fixture before the updated playoff bracket consolidated all results for the 2026 postseason.
