Tottenham Reshape XI as De Zerbi Chases First Goal Against Everton

De Zerbi changes four starters as Tottenham targets a breakthrough against Everton

LONDON — Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has made four changes to his starting eleven for Saturday’s Premier League match against Everton after a 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last weekend.

Regular starting full-backs Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie miss out because of minor muscle injuries. Archie Gray moves into the right-back role, while veteran defender Andrew Robertson starts at left-back.

Antonin Kinsky remains in goal, with Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven in central defense. Sandro Tonali and Rodrigo Bentancur also keep their places in midfield, where Mateus Fernandes replaces Conor Gallagher.

Tottenham is still seeking its first victory and first goal of the 2026–27 league campaign. Spurs opened the top-flight season with consecutive defeats against Brentford and Newcastle United before taking their first point against Nottingham Forest, and the club has failed to score in its opening three Premier League fixtures.

Dominic Solanke starts at central striker instead of Mathys Tel, with Savinho and Omar Marmoush alongside him in attack. Mathys Tel is among Tottenham’s substitutes, alongside Martin Dúbravka, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marcos Senesi, Ben Davies, Conor Gallagher, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall, and Mohammed Kudus.

Everton arrives at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a 2-2 draw against Manchester United. Ainsley Maitland-Niles returns to the starting lineup after scoring a late equalizer in that match, while young forward Tyrique George keeps his place after also scoring against Manchester United.

Jordan Pickford starts in goal for Everton. The defensive line features Maitland-Niles, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Vitaliy Mykolenko, while James Garner and Harrison Armstrong operate in midfield with Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Adam Johnson. Thierno Barry continues as Everton’s primary striker.

The fixture brings together the two founding members of the Football League, who first met in competitive play in 1890. Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in April 2019 on the site of the former White Hart Lane ground and has a capacity of 62,850 spectators.
