Apple TV+ Sets Release Window and Unveils First Look at ‘Neuromancer’ Series

Apple TV+ has officially revealed the premiere schedule and initial footage for its upcoming television adaptation of Neuromancer, the landmark 1984 novel that codified the cyberpunk genre. Unveiled during a presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, the ten-episode drama series is set to launch on January 22 with a two-episode premiere, followed by weekly episode releases running through March 19.

The narrative follows Case, a disgraced, high-level hacker who is drawn into an intricate web of digital corporate espionage and criminal risk. Partnering with Molly, a surgically augmented razor-girl assassin, Case embarks on a dangerous heist targeting an elusive mega-corporate empire. Callum Turner leads the cast as Case, alongside Briana Middleton as Molly.

The ensemble cast includes Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy. The project builds upon Apple TV+‘s established portfolio of high-concept sci-fi storytelling, joining a roster that includes critically acclaimed original series like Severance and Silo.

Author William Gibson, who serves as an executive producer on the series, offered high praise for the adaptation following the teaser release. Writing on the social media platform Bluesky, Gibson noted his complete satisfaction with the creative process throughout production.

First published in 1984, Gibson’s seminal novel won science fiction’s triple crown—the Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick awards—and popularized early visions of virtual reality networks and mega-corporate power dynamics. While feature film adaptations spent decades stalled in development, this ten-part production represents the first completed live-action adaptation of the iconic work.
