2027 Ford Ranger Order Guide Leaks 3.0L V6 Upgrade
Leaked documents show the midsize truck adopts the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 and overhauls its trim packages ahead of production.

A leaked order guide for the 2027 Ford Ranger confirms the midsize pickup will drop its optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 in favor of a larger 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, according to autoevolution. The engine swap targets XLT and Lariat trims equipped with the 300A, 301A, or 500A packages. Buyers will not get a choice of drivetrain: the new motor pairs exclusively with all-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Ford has not released official horsepower or torque figures for any 2027 Ranger variant. The base XL retains the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which also remains standard on higher trims.
The displacement increase mirrors moves Ford made across its truck and SUV lineup. In the 2027 F-150, the replacement 3.0-liter engine matches the outgoing 2.7-liter’s output of 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The 2027 Bronco tells a different story. Sharing the T6 platform with the Ranger, the Bronco’s new 3.0-liter mill jumps to 380 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, up from the 2026 model’s 330 hp and 415 lb-ft.
The current 2026 Ranger’s 2.7-liter V6 produces 315 hp and 400 lb-ft. Matching the Bronco’s 440 lb-ft figure would put a standard XLT or Lariat on par with the 2026 Ranger Raptor’s peak torque, an unlikely overlap that suggests Ford may detune the engine specifically for the midsize truck bed.

Beyond the powertrain, the order guide details significant equipment shuffling. Ford is deleting the black Ford Oval badge and reverting to a traditional Blue Oval. The 17-inch black-painted steel wheels are gone. Standard rubber on the XL shifts to 17-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, while the XLT receives a unique 17-inch design alongside a black-painted front fascia, rear bumper, and painted center grille bar.
Lariat buyers get 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with a smoked satin center bar as standard, with an option for 20-inch bright machined aluminum. Black wheels remain tied to the Black Appearance Package.
Inside, a 12-inch center display and dual-zone climate control move to standard equipment on the entry-level XL trim. A 5G modem is now included across the board, and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 becomes available. Sandstone interior upholstery is out; Space Gray replaces it.
Ford overhauled its package structure entirely. The Chrome Accent, Advanced Towing, Technology, Advanced Towing Plus Technology, and Sport Appearance packages have been scrapped. They are replaced by a Bronze Appearance Package, separate graphics delete options for both Bronze and Black Appearance configurations, and a new Luxury Package.
Selecting the 301A group adds power-adjustable heated front seats and a power-sliding rear window. The FX4 off-road package bundles an electronic locking rear differential, steel bash plate, underbody shields, off-road shocks, Mud/Ruts and Sand drive modes, Trail Control, and an option for rocker rails with hoop-style steps.
Carbonized Gray and Velocity Blue exterior colors have been dropped. Neptune Blue takes their place on the color chart. Pricing and exact availability dates have not been announced.
