Six Injured in Imbaba Building Collapse as Search Efforts Intensify

Giza Responders Continue Search for Missing After Four-Story Structure Fails

Six people were injured after a building collapsed in Imbaba, north Giza. All injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Land rescue teams continue to clear debris and search for additional victims, with no fatalities reported so far.

The Giza Civil Protection General Director received an alert from the Emergency Police Department regarding the collapse and reported injuries in Imbaba. The director promptly dispatched land rescue teams, coordinating with security forces from the Imbaba Police Department. An initial inspection revealed an old, four-story residential building had collapsed.

The incident initially resulted in four injuries, with those individuals also taken to a nearby hospital. Search operations for anyone potentially trapped under the rubble continued, with no fatalities reported at that initial stage.

Legal procedures have been initiated. The Giza Security Director has been notified, and the case referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation to determine the cause of the collapse, an incident that underscores ongoing concerns about building safety standards in Egypt.
