Xiaomi Targets iPhone Users With Magnetic Clip-On Speaker Priced Under $20
Chinese tech brand debuts low-cost MagSafe audio accessory with built-in kickstand on Youpin
Xiaomi has expanded its hardware offensive into Apple’s accessory market with a compact, MagSafe-compatible portable speaker engineered to latch onto the rear of modern iPhones.
The device debuted on Xiaomi’s Youpin crowdfunding platform at approximately 17 euros. It attaches directly to naked iPhones via Apple’s magnetic array, though Android handsets with compatible magnetic cases work as well.
A 95-gram chassis doubles as a mechanical smartphone stand via an adjustable hinged ring. The speaker pairs automatically on magnetic contact, and an integrated LED ring signals playback states and incoming notifications.
Bluetooth 6.0 drives connectivity alongside SBC and AAC codec support. True Wireless Stereo pairing lets users link multiple units for wider sound staging, while acoustic output reaches 3 W nominal.
An IP67 rating guards against dust and water submersion. A 650 mAh battery charges over standard USB, so the same cord that powers a smartphone can recharge the speaker.
Cream and black finishes are available exclusively in mainland China through Youpin. Xiaomi has not indicated when or whether the accessory will reach international retail channels.
