Moroccan striker announces retirement following decisive performance in Qatar

Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah, the Al-Shabab striker, announced his international retirement. He made the announcement after leading Morocco to a 3-2 Arab Cup victory over Jordan in Qatar.
In the 72nd minute, Hamdallah entered the match as a substitute for Oussama Tannane, who had scored Morocco’s opening goal. Hamdallah then scored the equalizer in the 87th minute. He secured the winning goal in the 100th minute of extra time. These crucial goals delivered the “Atlas Lions” their second Arab Cup title.
During a post-final press conference, Hamdallah addressed questions about his potential participation in the 2026 World Cup. He stated, “This is my last match with the national team, and I am an Arab Cup champion.” He added, “After all the suffering I’ve been through, it’s time to stop international play. We are not a reserve team.”
Hamdallah expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I am happy with this title.” He explained the victory “compensates me for barren years I wished to be with the national team to get what suits my value and contribute.” He concluded, “Unfortunately, it came late, but the important thing is that it came.”
