Cairo Education Directorate Unveils 2026 Mid-Year Exam Schedule
Non-Cumulative Tests Set for Early January, Main Exams Follow for All Stages
CAIRO – The Cairo Directorate of Education and Technical Education has announced the schedule for mid-year examinations for the 2025/2026 academic year, addressing student inquiries regarding the timing of tests not added to the overall grade.
Non-Cumulative Exam Dates in Cairo
Dr. Hemmat Abu Keila, Director of the Cairo Directorate of Education and Technical Education, confirmed that high-level and non-cumulative subject examinations for transfer grades will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, and Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Primary Stage Exam Schedule
The Cairo Education Directorate detailed the examination schedule for the primary stage:
- Exams for third-grade primary students and their equivalents are set from Saturday, January 10, to Monday, January 12, 2026.
- Exams for fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade primary students and their equivalents will run from Saturday, January 10, to Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
All primary stage examinations will be conducted within schools, adhering to schedules approved by each educational administration and complying with standardized exam paper specifications. Preparatory Stage Exam Dates
For the preparatory stage, the directorate outlined the following dates:
- Transfer exams for general, sports, and vocational preparatory students will take place from Saturday, January 10, to Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
- Preparatory Certificate exams (general, sports, vocational, deaf, and blind students) are scheduled from Thursday, January 15, to Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Technical and Secondary Education Exams
The Cairo Directorate of Education also announced the schedule for technical and secondary education:
- Transfer exams for technical education students are slated from Saturday, January 10, to Thursday, January 22, 2026.
- Transfer exams for general secondary education and its equivalents will be held from Saturday, January 10, to Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The directorate noted that examinations will be suspended on January 6, 7, and 8, 2026, for Christmas holidays, and on Monday, January 19, 2026, for Epiphany. These official holidays will be observed when finalizing the detailed examination timetables.
