Trump Reports “Very Well” Progress in Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks

Trump: Russia-Ukraine Negotiations Advancing

U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that ongoing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to resolve their conflict are progressing well.

Speaking to reporters during his vacation at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump remarked, “Talks regarding Ukraine and Russia are going very well.”

Asked if he planned to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump did not answer directly, stating only about the fighting, “I would like to see it stop.”

President Trump has pursued a peace agreement for months, though negotiations have faced sharply conflicting demands from Moscow and Kyiv.

U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff announced Monday he held “productive and constructive” discussions in Florida. Participants included Ukrainian and European representatives, Russia’s presidential special envoy, and Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
