MSF Urges Pressure on Israel Over Gaza Aid Restrictions Amid Malnutrition Crisis
Doctors Without Borders warns new Israeli rules threaten humanitarian operations in Gaza and West Bank.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has called on the international community to pressure Israel to ease restrictions on humanitarian organizations operating in the Gaza Strip, warning that new Israeli registration procedures threaten to halt critical aid efforts by 2026. The urgent appeal comes as 508 children in Gaza have been diagnosed with severe malnutrition.
Inas Abu Khalaf, MSF’s Regional Media Office Director, stated in a press release on Tuesday that Gaza’s relief sector requires support and empowerment to meet the essential needs of its population, rather than facing additional constraints.
She highlighted that new Israeli restrictions, which mandate fresh registration procedures for aid organizations working in Gaza, undermine the ability of these groups to continue their operations into the new year. These decisions, Abu Khalaf added, pose a threat not only to the humanitarian response within Gaza but also to relief and humanitarian work across the West Bank.
MSF had issued a warning yesterday that Israel’s updated registration requirements for international organizations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank could push humanitarian activities to a breaking point, placing healthcare at an unprecedented risk.
