Arsenal Target Eight-Point Premier League Lead Against Liverpool; Key Lineup Changes Revealed
Mikel Arteta shuffles his squad for crucial Liverpool encounter, while Jurgen Klopp faces significant injury setbacks.

Arsenal can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points with a victory over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium tonight. The Gunners watched Manchester City held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton on Wednesday, while Aston Villa also drew at Crystal Palace. These results leave Arsenal five points clear with a game in hand, intensifying their desire to widen the gap this evening.
Manager Mikel Arteta has made several changes from the side that defeated Bournemouth in their last outing. David Raya retains his place in goal. Jurrien Timber starts at right-back, preferred over Ben White, with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes anchoring the central defence. Piero Hincapie completes the backline, meaning Myles Lewis-Skelly is once again among the substitutes.
In midfield, Martin Zubimendi takes up the holding role, alongside Declan Rice, who seeks to continue his superb run of form this season. Martin Odegaard, also in strong recent form, captains Arsenal for the match.
Attack sees further adjustments. Bukayo Saka returns to the starting eleven after being rested at the weekend, replacing Noni Madueke. Leandro Trossard is also back in the lineup, stepping in for Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing. Viktor Gyokeres leads the attack, with Gabriel Jesus available from the bench. Kai Havertz, however, is not fit enough to be included in the squad.
Blow for Reds
Liverpool faces significant challenges with Hugo Ekitike ruled out. With Alexander Isak and Mohamed Salah also unavailable, Cody Gakpo will lead the line, supported by Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz on the wings.
Alisson Becker starts in goal for the visitors. Conor Bradley occupies the right-back position. Ibrahima Konate has been deemed fit to partner Virgil van Dijk in central defence, while Milos Kerkez gets the nod at left-back.
Ryan Gravenberch anchors the Liverpool midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai also starting. This means Curtis Jones will begin the match from the bench.
