Claude Unifies Its Workspace With Native Docs and Presentation Tools

Anthropic brings documents, presentations, and cross-device task continuity into Claude

SAN FRANCISCO — Anthropic has consolidated Claude’s user interface into a single workspace across its web, desktop, and mobile applications, while adding native tools for creating documents and presentations.

The updated workspace brings together conversational chat, Cowork workflows, and Artifacts, Claude’s dedicated execution window for code, web design, and digital assets. Claude Design, introduced in April to generate website wireframes and interactive prototypes, is now embedded directly into the core workspace.

Anthropic’s new presentation tools allow users to generate, edit, and deliver slide presentations within the application. AI-created presentations can be reviewed natively or exported as Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) files and PDF documents.

The company said customers had repeatedly expressed confusion about choosing between separate tabs for specific tasks. Under the new system, automated intent routing analyzes incoming prompts and directs work to the appropriate functional engine instead of requiring users to toggle manually between operating modes.

A separate feature called “Docs” supports collaborative document creation. Users can draft long-form content alongside Claude, generate individual sections, ask context-aware questions, and add inline comments to completed passages.

The same workspace supports shared access through web links, enabling collaborators to view or modify documents and presentations from mobile devices. Users can also start a document project or complex task on a desktop computer, then monitor its real-time progress or make adjustments through the Claude mobile app on iOS and Android.

The interface consolidation follows a recent infrastructure update to Cowork’s underlying memory layer. That update expanded Claude’s ability to retain context, persistent instructions, and task history across separate user sessions.

Anthropic is introducing the updated interface, Docs, and presentation capabilities in phases over the coming weeks. Subscribers to Claude’s paid Pro and Max plans are receiving access first across web, desktop, and mobile environments, while free-tier accounts and Team plan users are scheduled to receive access later.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI executives Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei, San Francisco-based Anthropic has expanded the Claude ecosystem to compete directly with generative AI products from OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft.

The company has received major investments from Amazon and Alphabet and has focused its recent software development on enterprise productivity, context management, and workspace automation.
